Ramadan in Kampong Glam Friday June 23

The holiest month in the Islamic calendar is Ramadan, during which time Muslims fast from dawn to dusk and not even a drop of water is consumed.

During the evenings in this period Bussorah Street in Kampong Glam becomes a hub of activity as Muslims gather to buy food to eat or home to their loved ones. Stall holders entice passers-by with all kinds of Malay, Indonesian, Indian, Arabian and Mediterranean food.
